Dallas man faces murder charge in woman’s shooting in Garland Sunday, police say

Police have arrested a 23-year-old Dallas man in connection to a shooting that killed a woman and injured two others in Garland on Sunday, police said in a statement Tuesday.

Police responded to a call on the 2600 block of West Walnut Street near Shiloh Road just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a Sunday news release.

Early investigations found that a disturbance in a business parking lot escalated into a fight involving multiple people, including Sergio Nicolas Jaramillo Jr. of Dallas, according to police. Jaramillo shot three people in the altercation, police said.

All three were taken to a hospital, where 30-year-old Gema Rostran of Garland was pronounced dead, according to police. The other two victims are expected to survive, police said, and one was in critical condition after the incident Sunday.
