Fort Worth police release body cam footage showing arrest, injury of activist

Fort Worth police on Wednesday released body-camera and surveillance footage depicting the arrest of a 60-year-old woman and said the officer involved in her arrest has been reassigned out of patrol pending the outcome of an investigation.

Carolyn Rodriguez, known online as CFW Carolina, also plans to sue the department, per her attorney. Rodriguez is a Fort Worth-based activist who regularly posts “cop-watching” videos in which she records police in case they violate people’s rights. Rodriguez was injured during an arrest this past weekend as she recorded police officers, who the department said were investigating a drunk driving crash about 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning in the 1000 block of Foch Street.
