A 50-year-old man held in the Dallas County jail died Tuesday morning after tampering with a medical device in his throat, the Dallas County sheriff’s office said in a statement.
According to the sheriff’s office, the man was brought to the Dallas County jail by DART police at about 8:52 p.m. The man was rejected by the jail for medical reasons and taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital. He was later cleared and returned to the jail for booking.
